Hybrid IT is a reality for a lot of our clients. We’re seeing organisations juggling on-prem systems, multiple clouds, SaaS applications and layered security.
For MSPs, this complexity can be a challenge, but it does bring a significant opportunity. The opportunity for MSPs to position themselves as strategic partners who can help clients navigate and simplify hybrid environments - opening up the door to deeper, recurring engagement.
Where the opportunity lies … Recent industry research by Westcon Comstor highlights that 25% of UK MSPs see cloud migration and ongoing cloud management as their top revenue opportunity.
The same research found that over a third of MSPs reported data flow and platform integrations as a major client challenge, with nearly a third say maintaining consistent security across mixed environments is critical. In other words, as hybrid IT becomes harder for customers to manage, the MSPs who can simplify it are the ones best placed to add value and build recurring revenue.
Adding value
In our community, Members are continually looking at where opportunities lie and where to add value for customers. In this latest research, a few key areas stand out in regards to how MSPs add real value, which include:
· Visibility: providing the right tools to help clients see what’s happening across multiple platforms.
· Security: helping clients maintain consistent protection across on-prem, cloud and SaaS environments.
· Governance: supporting customers to standardise policies, compliance and operational processes.
Packaging these into repeatable, advisory-led services creates opportunities for recurring revenue while also having genuine business impact. An approach like this is a chance to move beyond the role of supplier and become a trusted strategic partner for clients.
Collaboration is key
The shift toward hybrid IT is also reinforcing the importance of community and collaboration, like what we have at Network Group. MSPs who share insights, experiences and opportunities with peers are able to better manage these complex environments.
At Network Group, our collaborative approach allows Members to refine their offerings, address common challenges and stay ahead of changing client expectations and the evolving market.
